PADI Courses

We offer  PADI courses from Discover Scuba/Discover Scuba Diving through to Assistant Instructor, including Enriched Air Nitrox (EANx) & Draeger Dolphin and Ray Rebreathers.  Virtually anyone who is in good health, reasonably fit, and comfortable in the water may participate.  All courses are performance based.  You proceed as you demonstrate mastery of the course skills. This allows you to work at a pace that is comfortable for you.



Kids! Don't feel left out, bring your parents diving! For young adventurers like you, this program is an introduction to the thrill of breathing underwater. Now is your chance to take the plunge with a PADI Instructor and go pool (confined water) diving!    Start out on the right fin, jump into the Bubblemaker program today!

* Duration: about 1/2 day
* Minimum age: 8 years


These programs lets you try diving without committing to a full certification course.  It lets you experience the thrill of diving under the supervision of a PADI Instructor in pool or pool like conditions, such as those found at a resort. During your adventure, you'll master some basic concepts and scuba skills and might even head off on an open water adventure.  If you and your instructor elect to practice these skills, they may be credited to the Scuba Diver or Open Water Diver certifications when you decide to take a certification course.  If you are between 10 and 14 or have a child between these ages, there is a Junior program available.

* Duration: about 1/2 day
* Minimum age: 15 years (or 10 years for Junior program)


ImageThis program is a pre-entry level certification that is perfect for vacationers or people who only plan to dive a couple times a year.  As a subprogram of the Open Water Diver program, the Scuba Diver rating allows you to get certified quickly and easily by minimizing time constraints. With the Scuba Diver certification, you can dive under the direct supervision of a PADI Divemaster, Assistant Instructor, Instructor or higher professional on your next vacation or dive trip.   If you are between 10 and 14 or have a child between these ages, there is a Junior Scuba Diver program available.

* Duration: about 2 days
* Minimum age: 15 years (or 10 years for Junior program)


This entry level certification course consists of academic, confined water and four open water dives.  Throughout the course, you’ll learn fundamentals of scuba diving, including dive equipment and techniques.  Upon completion, you are certified to dive all over the world with a certified buddy with no direct supervision. If you are between 10 and 14 or have a child between these ages, there is a Junior Open Water Diver program available.

* Duration: about 4 days
* Minimum age: 15 years (or 10 years for Junior program)


The advanced course is all about getting more experience in different kinds of diving. The course consist of 5 Adventure dives, two are mandatory (the Deep Adventure Dive and the Underwater Navigation Adventure Dive) and three Adventure Dives are flexible and selected from a variety of specialties. You and your instructor will select appropriate Adventure dives for your course together. Popular ones include dpv dive, photography dive, underwater naturalist dive, boat dive, wreck dive, night dive, nitrox dive etc.

After the five Adventure dives are completed, you can earn your Advanced Open Water Diver certification.  After these five dives, you'll be more experienced, feel more comfortable in the water and simply enjoy diving more because you better understand the underwater environment.

The Adventure dives also gives you credit towards the corresponding Specialty Diver certifications.

You must be a certified PADI Open Water Diver (or qualifying certification from another organization) to participate.

* Duration: about 15 hours including five dives over two days
* Minimum age: 15 (12 for Junior Advanced Open Water Diver)


Emergency First Response gives you the tools you need to perform CPR and First Aid. Whether you're a diver or a non-diver, Emergency First Response prepares you to properly handle potentially life -threatening situations.

This comprehensive program is composed of two core modules that can be taught in tandem or as stand-alone courses: Emergency First Response - Primary Care and Emergency First Response - Secondary Care. Together, these courses proved extensive instruction in CPR and First Aid, as well as providing optional (yet recommended) Automated External Defibrillator (AED) and Emergency Oxygen sections.  This course satisfies your Rescue Diver CPR prerequisite.

* Duration: about 1 day
* Minimum age: No limit!


This course will expand your knowledge and experience beyond purely recreational level because you'll learn to look beyond yourself and consider the safety and well being of other divers. Although this course is serious, it is an enjoyable way to build your confidence. 

Rescue Diver training will prepare you to prevent problems and, if necessary, manage dive emergencies.  During the five open water sessions you will cover:

*  Self-rescue and diver stress
*  dive first aid
*  emergency management and equipment
*  swimming and non-swimming assists
*  panicked diver response
*  underwater problems
*  missing diver procedures
*  surfacing the unconscious diver
*  in water artificial respiration
*  egress (exits)
*  first aid procedures for pressure related accidents
*  dive accident scenarios

You must be a PADI Advanced Open Water Diver or PADI Junior Advanced Open Water Diver certification (or qualifying certification from another organization) and have successfully completed a sanctioned CPR program within the past 24 months.

* Duration:  about 25 hours including five open water sessions over two days
* Minimum age:  15 years old (12 for PADI Junior Rescue Diver)



Wreck DiverThe PADI course curriculum has a host of exciting specialty courses. These courses introduce and train you for a variety of special diving  activities or situations. The courses vary in scope and length.

Working closely with an Instructor, you'll expand your dive knowledge to instructor level and your diving skills to demonstration quality, as you become a dive professional.  Divemaster training develops your leadership abilities by training you to supervise dive activities and assist instructors with student divers.

You will be learning in a resort environment (right here on Panuba, Tioman) with hands-on experience in filling tanks, driving boats, guiding dives and assisting an instructor with actual students including:

* Dive leadership through classroom and independent study sessions
* Water skills and stamina exercises in confined and open water
* Training exercises to test organizational and problem solving abilities
* An internship or series of practical training exercises

Once certified, you will be able to:

*  Work at local dive centers, on live-aboard dive boats, yachts and at exotic resort locations
*  Assist PADI Instructors with students
*  Lead PADI Scuba Divers on guided dive tours
*  Teach and certify PADI Skin Divers
*  Teach PADI Discover Snorkeling programs
*  Conduct PADI Scuba Review programs for certified divers
*  Lead certified divers on Discover Local Diving experiences
*  Teach Emergency First Response programs after successful completion of an Emergency First Response Instructor course.

To qualify for this course, you MUST have the following:

*  PADI Advanced Open Water  or Rescue Diver, or qualifying certification from another training organization
*  Medical clearance signed by a physician
*  20 logged dives

* Duration: 2-4 weeks
* Minimum age: 18 years



The Assistant Instructor course is the first portion of the PADI Instructor Development Course (IDC). You'll not only gain additional experience as a PADI Professional but you'll also start learning the PADI System of diver education. This includes:

*  Knowledge development through self-study, quizzes, lectures and presentations
*  Confined water skill review and assessment, workshops and presentations
*  Open water workshops, rescue assessment and candidate presentations

Once certified, you will be able to:

*  Teach academic presentations under the indirect supervision of a PADI Instructor
*  Evaluate Open Water Diver surface skills under the indirect supervision of a PADI Instructor
*  Teach the PADI Peak Performance Buoyancy Specialty course
*  Teach Project AWARE Specialty courses
*  Conduct PADI Discover Scuba experiences
*  Teach Emergency First Response after successful completion of an Emergency First Response Instructor course

To qualify for this course, you MUST have the following:

*  PADI Divemaster rating or qualifying certification from another certification organization
*  At least 18 years old
*  Have 60 logged dives, including night, deep, and navigation dives
